It's back to school, and back to school means new activities! This year, I'm betting on swimming with the new TOMÜL swimsuit sewing pattern!
If you are wondering if sewing a swimsuit is within your reach, the answer is yes! With a little motivation and a few sewing projects under your belt, TOMÜL is completely achievable. At Opian, I strive to simplify each pattern as much as possible, with a minimum of supplies needed, to make sewing accessible and enjoyable.
TOMÜL is a two-piece swimsuit, composed of a bralette and knickers, with original crossing details on the sides. The bralette is distinguished by its thin straps and its support band under the bust, with an elegant crossing front on back. The knickers are high-cut, comfortable, and also have a crossover back on front, offering a perfect fit for sports. By the way, it is a bikini, but the bralette can also be used for another sport such as fitness or pilates.
The main challenge with TOMÜL is to correctly adjust the support band under the bust to your body shape. A test with the elastic before finishing the bralette is recommended. Lycra and elastic can be slippery, so do not hesitate to baste the pieces by hand with long stitches before the machine.
TOMÜL is classified level 2/4 according to the Opian criteria. For more details on the difficulty levels, go to the Resources section.
In order to guide you in making your swimsuit and to convince you of how easy it is to make, you can find a series of blog articles about swimsuits.
The sewing pattern must be downloaded and printed at home. It contains 10 different sizes with clear and easy instructions and illustrations to make it even easier to understand. You will also receive an A0 file to print in a copy shop. Once ordered, you will receive a ZIP file with the pattern in English and French.
Find all the material necessary for the realization of this model in the description of the article.
I hope you like TOMÜL and I look forward to seeing all your versions with the #OpianTomul. And for people who don't use social networks, I invite you to send me a photo by email because it's always a pleasure to see your creations of Opian patterns.
