To choose the right bra, you need the bust measurement, which is the measurement across the fullest part of your bust, and the back measurement, which is the measurement located just under the bust.
The formula is as follows:
Cup = Bust – Back
Once the calculation is done, you will find the measurements below which will give you your cup for a bra in your size.
Cup A: 13cm
Cup B: 15cm
Cup C: 17cm
Cup D: 19cm
Cup E: 21cm
Cup F: 23cm
We get to the measurement that interests us the most, it is the one that tells us about the cup to know the size for a sewing pattern.
The formula is as follows:
Cup = Full bust - High bust
Full bust is the measurement across the fullest part of your bust. As for the high bust, it is the measurement above the bust. In order to take correct measurements, you need to look at yourself in the mirror and check if the tape measure is straight. Another alternative is to ask someone to please do it.
Once the calculation is done, you can find the measurements below which will give you your cup for a sewing pattern.
Cup A : 2.5cm
Cup B : 5cm
Cup C : 7.5cm
Cup D : 10cm
Cup E : 12.5cm
Cup F : 15cm
Opian patterns are designed for a C cup in mind. If you have a different cup, you will need to adapt it to your size. You can find the method to do a full bust adjustment (FBA) and a small bust adjustment (SBA) in the Pattern making section.
